25 Jun Box of Roses
Please read my inspiration for this website on the about page. I knew St. Therese would always intercede for me and be my friend. She has continually sent me roses throughout my lifetime as a sign that she is praying for me.
Several years ago, a few months after my coworker brought me a rose from her garden, we were working together in the conference room when our manager, who owned the company, burst into the room in tears. It turns out that unbeknownst to us, one of our international customers purchased some of our equipment and illegally sold it to another country. One of our former colleagues, who was jealous and disgruntled, went to the Feds and framed our manager to make it look like he knew about the illegal sale. They had just subpoena him to court, and it looked like he would have to serve time in jail. I turned to our secretary and said that we need to ask St. Therese to help him. She remembered what happened the last time St. Therese interceded for me, so we asked St. Therese to pray and please ask God to help our manager. He had a newborn child and shouldn’t have to serve time for something he didn’t know anything about.
At the end of the day, I heard some commotion outside my office. Our secretary started screaming my name and asked me to come quickly. There was a gentleman who spoke very little English who had come into the office holding two boxes of a dozen red roses! Just to be clear, it wasn’t Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day or any other holiday. This man had just happened to come into our office out of nowhere to see if he could sell us some roses. I quickly went back to my desk, grabbed some money from my purse to purchase a box of roses, and thanked him for stopping by.
I went into my manager’s office and told him the story. Even though he was Jewish and didn’t believe in Jesus or the Saints, it didn’t seem to matter. At that moment, he believed. He was so happy to see the roses, and I told him that everything will be okay. But after some thought and prayer, I realized that because I had to pay for the roses, he would most likely have to pay too. I told him to expect some sort of fine but that he will not have to go to jail. After a couple of years, everything had cleared up. He had to pay a large sum of money to settle the issue, but he did not serve any jail time. Thanks be to God!
