The Intercession of Saints

The Intercession of Saints

WHAT IS A SAINT?

A Saint is a person who has been canonized by the church. They are people of exceptional faith who have miracles associated with their lives. Saints are said to be venerated, or recognized and honored. People often pray to Saints in the hope that the Saints will intercede on their behalf.

Many people are familiar with the concept of Catholic Patron Saints. These are specific religious figures associated with specific topics, such as occupations or nations. For example, St. Michael is associated with police officers, and St. Mary Magdalene, with sinners. Many people feel a special association with a certain Patron Saint.

Saints are venerated by many denominations, including the Coptic, Catholic, and many other churches. Several different churches canonize religious figures. For example, the Coptic religion has its own list of Saints. The Greek Orthodox Church does as well. Of course, many of these lists overlap, and you will find several of the most well-known Roman Catholic Saints, such as Joseph or the Virgin Mary, venerated in many denominations.

Many people have a specific Saint that they believe watches over them. This is often called a Patron Saint. Many believe that a Saint is connected to a certain livelihood or activity because of their life story.

We have included a list of common Patron Saints for your convenience on our website, as well as links to information about many Coptic and Catholic Saints.

However, the real purpose of our site is to gather your stories of intercession. Farther down the page, we explain what intercessions are and why we want to hear your stories about them.

BEYOND ROMAN CATHOLIC SAINTS

What many people do not realize is that Saints are by no means exclusive to the Catholic Church. Although many people instantly think of Roman Catholic Saints, other denominations also have Saints.

Members of both the Coptic and Eastern Orthodox Church, for example, believe that Saints intercede for us when we pray to them. Furthermore, even some non-Christian groups recognize Saints! People of many denominations turn to Saints when they pray.

On our site, you will find a list of both popular Catholic and Coptic Saints as well as a list of Patron Saints organized by topic.

A few Saints recognized by multiple denominations:
• Mary, mother of Jesus
• Joseph, Mary’s husband
• The Apostles
• Mary Magdalene

At “When Saints Intercede,” we are collecting inspirational short stories of prayer to any Saint from Christians of all denominations.

Instead of focusing on any single Saint, or even common Catholic Patron Saints, we hope to put together a wide selection of experiences involving many different Saints. It is also our hope to collect stories from a wide variety of people.

In the end, our readers will be able to see that miracles still do happen, even in the modern world, and that they are not necessarily huge, Earth-shaking events. In fact, many examples of intercession are extremely personal.

Our book will help people understand that Saints are willing to help the faithful. It will also allow everyone to read the many inspiring stories that are not being heard.

If you have received the help of a Saint when you prayed to God, please tell us so we can share it with others. It will only take a few minutes for you to tell us about your experiences when you use our convenient online contact form.

Please share your story with us. It is easy to do, and it could affect many people who you would otherwise never be able to touch.

WHAT IS INTERCESSION, AND WHY IS IT SO SPECIAL?

“Intercession” is a term that describes Saints adding their voice to that of those praying to them. Because a Saint was once a human being, it is thought by many that they are more accessible to those of us on Earth.

We feel that modern, true stories of religious miracles through the intercession of Saints will touch many lives and inspire faith and hope in others, particularly those who may feel like miracles only happen in the bible.

At “When Saints Intercede,” we are collecting stories from people who have prayed to Saints and received the benefits of Saints’ intercession. Ultimately, we hope to publish the accounts we receive. Our book will help people understand that wonderful things are happening every single day to people just like them.

We are interested in stories about any Saint and from any denomination, including (but not limited to) Coptic and Roman Catholic Saints.

One purpose of this is that it allows many people to read these stories of the intercessions of Saints. We honestly believe that these stories will help inspire faith and hope in others. Another purpose is to give those who have benefited from intercession an opportunity to show their thanks.

Please help us and thousands of others by allowing us to share your story with anyone who needs hope. We are interested in all types of stories, whether they seem grand and miraculous or are simply personal stories of comfort received.

We make it quick and easy to share your miracle stories with others through the online contact form found on this site. You can write your story and send it to us through the website.

You do not need to worry about writing anything fancy or using perfect grammar. We are simply interested in true stories told in a plain, but heartfelt, manner. The beauty of these stories is enough. If we decide to include your story, we will proofread it for you before publishing.
